8. 1979 Los Angles Rams
With a weak schedule in the worst division in the NFL, the 1979 Rams mustered just nine wins during the regular season. The nine wins remains a low water mark for any team that has participated in a Super Bowl. A minus eight turnover ratio and a 19 to 29 touchdown to interception ratio are numbers more like the ones posted by a NFL bottom feeder. Yet, the Rams made the Super Bowl on the back of good fortune and questionable officiating. A tipped pass with less than two minutes remaining in the divisional round was the difference of the win against the heavily favored Dallas Cowboys. The 1979 Los Angles Rams may be the worst of the 8 worst teams to play in the Super Bowl.
