9 Best Head Coaches in NFL History

8. Chuck Noll

Some NFL pundits believe Noll should not make the list of the 9 best head coaches in NFL history. After all, he coached Super Bowl winning Pittsburgh Steelers teams that had as many as 11 Pro Bowl players. Do these pundits think talented players coach themselves? Noll took a downtrodden franchise and methodically put together the right pieces that created perhaps the last NFL dynasty. He also got the most out of erratic Terry Bradshaw, especially during the postseason. Noll should receive credit for his drafting prowess. In 1974, he selected four future Hall of Famers, with the team’s first five picks, a feat never matched in NFL history.
